Wisdom Tooth Removal

In an effort to optimize your oral health, often times it is recommended to remove the wisdom teeth. This will help eliminate gum infections, crowding of teeth, and the potential for other harmful conditions. When it is time for you to have your wisdom teeth removed, we will work with you to create a treatment plan that will provide the proper anesthesia to make this procedure as comfortable and low stress as possible.

Dental Implants

A dental implant is the ideal way to replace a tooth that has been lost due to cavities, trauma, or a tooth that never developed. Tooth loss can affect speech and one’s ability to chew (not to mention can negatively affect a person’s appearance). Implants are used to treat many conditions from loss of a single tooth to implant of all the teeth in one’s jaw. Depending on your needs we will develop options to address you needs during you first visit.

Bone Grafting & Jawbone Preservation

Once a tooth is lost, the underlying bone, if not managed correctly, will atrophy (or shrink) we have multiple tactics to maintain or preserve bone at the time of tooth removal to allow easy implant placement, after the area has healed. We also have options for restoring areas where bone has been lost from previous extraction sites that will allow implants to be placed in areas that otherwise may not have been good sites.

Facial Injuries & Emergencies

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons are trained, skilled and uniquely qualified to manage and treat Facial Trauma. Drs. Jenkins, Morrow & Gayheart are on staff at Saint Joseph and Saint Joseph East here in Lexington.
